Last updated 19 September 2026Video Editor is licensed to you under Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement (the “Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement”), which you can read in full at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. By downloading or using the app you agree to that agreement, and to the additional terms set out on this page. Where the two disagree about the licence itself, Apple's agreement governs.
In short: the app is licensed, not sold. The videos you make with it are entirely yours. The subscription renews until you cancel it, and cancelling is done in your Apple Account settings rather than here.
1. The licence
Apple's Standard EULA grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. It covers the scope of the licence, consent to data use, termination, warranty and liability, and the fact that Apple — not the developer — may refund the purchase price in certain cases. 2. Subscriptions
The app is free to download and use. Exports on the free plan carry a watermark and are limited to 720p. An optional subscription — “Pro” — removes the watermark, raises exports to 4K at 60 fps, and unlocks the paid filters, fonts, stickers, voice effects, automatic captions and background removal.

How billing works
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically at the same price unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device, or from the Manage Subscription button inside the app. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Switching between plans is handled by Apple: moving up takes effect immediately with the unused time refunded pro rata, and moving down begins when the current period ends.
- Prices are shown in your local currency inside the app and may differ between storefronts. Any price change will be notified by Apple in advance, and will require your agreement before it takes effect.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Refunds
Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple and not by the developer. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. The developer cannot issue, reverse or expedite a refund.
3. Your content is yours
The videos, images, audio and text you bring into the app, and everything you export from it, remain entirely yours. The developer claims no licence over them, receives no copy of them, and has no means of accessing them: the app has no server and makes no network requests.
You are responsible for having the right to use what you import — footage, music and images included — and for what you publish.
4. What comes with the app
The app bundles typefaces, stickers and emoji artwork that are licensed for use inside it. You may use them freely in the videos you create. You may not extract them from the app or redistribute them as artwork or fonts in their own right.
The bundled typefaces are licensed under the SIL Open Font Licence 1.1 and the Apache Licence 2.0; copies of those licences ship inside the app.
5. Fair use of the app
Do not use the app to create or distribute material that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that you do not have permission to use. Do not attempt to decompile the app or work around the subscription, except where that restriction is void under the law that applies to you.
6. Availability and changes
Features may change, and specific features may be added or withdrawn between versions. Some features depend on your device: automatic captions need a speech model that you have downloaded, and background removal needs a device capable of running Apple's Vision segmentation. Neither is available on every device or in every language.
7. No warranty, and limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided “as is”. The developer is not liable for lost footage, failed exports, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using it. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Apple's role
Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Claims about the app — product liability, legal non-compliance, or consumer protection — are the developer's responsibility, not Apple's.
