Last updated 19 September 2026Video Editor does not collect your personal data. It has no account system, no analytics service and no server of its own, and it contains no networking code — the only network traffic it causes is Apple's own, when you buy or restore a subscription. Your videos never leave your device.
The short version. Everything you import, edit and export stays in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad. The developer cannot see it, cannot retrieve it, and receives nothing about what you make or how you use the app.

This policy covers the iOS app Video Editor (“the app”). Questions about it go to appservice.desk@yahoo.com, which is answered by the app's developer.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app does not gather, transmit, sell or share personal data. There is no advertising, no tracking, no third-party analytics kit, and no measurement of you across other apps or websites. The app contains no networking code of any kind, so there is no mechanism by which anything could be sent even accidentally.
Two pieces of network traffic happen through Apple rather than through the app, and both are Apple's to handle: the App Store contacts Apple when you buy, restore or manage a subscription, and — only if you have turned on Share With App Developers in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements — Apple may pass the developer crash and performance reports about this app. Those reports come from Apple, are about the app rather than about you, and contain none of your videos, audio or text.
What stays on your device
These things exist only on your device, in the app's own sandboxed storage:
- Your projects and media. Video and audio you import is copied into the app's storage so that editing does not depend on the original file. It stays there until you delete the project, use Free Up Space in Settings, or delete the app. If you back your device up to iCloud or to a computer, that backup includes the app's storage, the same as any other app; the backup is yours and Apple's, and the developer has no access to it.
- Your preferences. Appearance, haptics, and how many exports you have completed — used to decide when to ask for a review, and for nothing else.
- Diagnostic messages. The app writes to the system log as it runs, the same way every app does. Those messages stay on the device and are visible only to you (and to Apple, under Apple's own policy, if you have chosen to share analytics with developers).
Permissions, and why they are asked for

Each of these is optional. Decline one and only the feature that needs it stops working — the rest of the app carries on. You can change your mind at any time in Settings › Video Editor, or in Settings › Privacy & Security, and the app will ask again the next time that feature needs the permission.
Choosing a video to edit needs no permission at all: the picker runs outside the app and hands back only the clips you select, so the app never sees the rest of your library.
Features that use machine learning
Captions use Apple's Speech framework and background removal uses Apple's Vision framework. Both run entirely on your device. Neither sends your video, your audio, or anything derived from them anywhere.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple, not by this app. Payment happens through your Apple Account; the app never sees your card, your name, or your address. What the app receives from Apple is the answer to one question — whether a subscription is currently active — so that it knows which features to unlock. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal data a company holds about you. No such data exists here, because none is ever collected — there is nothing to hand over or erase on our side. The content you create is yours and is already in your hands: deleting a project, or the app, removes it from the device.
If you email support, that email and anything you attach to it are held in the support mailbox so the question can be answered. Ask and it will be deleted.
Changes
If a future version of the app collects anything — it does not today — this page will say so before that version ships, and the date at the top will change. A claim like the one on this page is only worth anything if it is kept current.
